The church's first meetings were home Bible studies.  Until the time Cornerstone had appropriate facilities, weekly Bible studies and activities were on going in the homes of members.  Cornerstone's first service was held Easter Sunday of 1987.  Morning services were held in the cafeteria of the Carlsbad High School for six months through October 11, 1987.  Cornerstone Community Church was incorporated on November 29, 1988 and received tax exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  Services were relocated to a movie theater at the corner of Marron Road and El Camino Real in Carlsbad for a period of six months.  The church signed a three-year lease for an office building at 2170 El Camino Real in Carlsbad, for the period of April 1988 through June 1991.  The church then shared a facility owned by the Seventh Day Adventist Church at 1943 California Street, Oceanside from June 16, 1991 until January 31, 1995.  John Hoppe resigned as Pastor to plant a new church in Osh Kosh, Wisconsin.  Franklin Keeler was then called to Pastor at Cornerstone Community Church.  Early in 2007, we brought on as youth pastor, Eddie Walker.  He and his wife, Stacey, and their four children have been members since 1999 and reside in Bonsall.

In July of 1992.  Pastor Keeler and his wife, Donna, and daughter, Rachel, had been attending Cornerstone since February of 1991.  On February 1, 1995 Cornerstone moved to its  current Oceanside location at 4749 Oceanside Blvd., occupying suites G, H, & I.

Our church offers a full complement of ministries including Sunday morning services, Men's and Women's Ministries, Children and Youth Ministries, and Drama and Music Ministries.  We thank God for opportunities to serve Him and look forward to continuing in His Service.
